Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns face their old coach on Monday afternoon when the Suns pay a visit to Mike D’Antoni and the New York Knicks. It’s also a chance for payback, as the Suns lost to New York last week.

Phoenix (17-21, 15-22-1 ATS) has won three of its past four games, including back-to-back victories. The Suns beat Portland 115-111 on Friday night to cover for the second consecutive game.

Even with D’Antoni gone, the Suns remain a high-octane offense, low-emphasis defensive club. Steve Nash is the biggest—if not only—reason the Suns have a legitimate chance to win on a nightly basis. He was superb in the win over Portland, scoring 23 points while doling out 13 assists.

Grant Hill also delivered a fine effort. Hill missed the past two games—and all but four minutes of a third—with a leg injury. He showed no signs of rust against the Blazers, racking up 21 points and seven rebounds. It marked the first time Hill scored 20-plus points since Dec. 19 against Oklahoma City.

The Suns need more from Mickael Pietrus. He’s played 10 games for the Suns since being acquired by Orlando but has yet to deliver up to expectations. Pietrus didn’t play in a win over New Jersey two games ago, and he earned just under eight minutes of playing time against Portland. In fact, Pietrushas played 15 or fewer minutes in five of his last six games. Online Sports Betting at Sportsbook

New York (22-17, 25-13-1 ATS) is suffering through a slump. The Knicks have dropped three of their last four games. They’ve lost two straight after falling to Sacramento 93-83 on Friday, though New York is at least 4-2 ATS in its past six games.

There’s little doubt the team is distracted by the wild Carmelo Anthony rumors. Nobody knows who is staying or going. Amare Stoudemire was the only starter to notch double-figures in scoring against the Kings (he finished with 25 points). Part of the problem was returning from a four-game trip on the West Coast, but it can’t help knowing you might be shipped across the country any day now.

Concerns about a rundown Raymond Felton continue. The guard, who is nursing an ankle sprain, finished with just six points and six assists against Sacramento. Felton made just two of his 15 shot attempts.

New York is certainly a better team than Phoenix and, with a few days off to catch up on rest, the Knicks should be ready to roll. D’Antoni obviously wants to beat his former team once again, so he’ll pull out all the stops in this one. Take New York.
