Los Angeles (50-20, 34-36 ATS) is gaining some serious momentum with the playoffs on the horizon. The Lakers are 12-1 in their past 13 games, including the current four-game winning streak. They beat Portland 84-80 on Saturday but failed to cover, though, dropping to 4-3 in their last seven games against the spread.

The team will be without Andrew Bynum on Tuesday, as the young center was nailed with a two-game suspension for a flagrant foul against Minnesota’s Michael Beasley on Friday night. It’s a major blow, as Bynum has been a key instigator in the Lakers’ run; he’s averaging 11.8 points and 13.0 rebounds per game since the All-Star break while playing exceptional defense.

The Lakers will rely on Lamar Odom a little more with Bynum out, and the strategy certainly paid off against Portland. Odom played over 41 minutes, going 8-for-11 from the field for 16 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. Online Sports Betting at Sportsbook

Phoenix (35-33, 32-34-2 ATS) has bounced back from a four-game losing streak to win back-to-back games. The Suns won and covered 108-99 against the Clippers on Saturday, improving to 3-0-1 in their past four games against the spread.

Despite some recent losses, the Suns have actually played some pretty good defense over the last week or so. Phoenix is giving up 97.7 points per game over its last four outings, well below the season average of 105.1 points per game. A sagging offense undid Phoenix during the losing streak, as the club managed just 93.2 points per game during the skid.

Naturally, Steve Nash will be crucial to any sort of playoff run Phoenix might put together. Nash has looked extremely worn out since late February, enduring an eight-game stretch in which he averaged just 8.7 points. Nash finally sat out a couple of games to rest, and he’s looked much sharper over his last two outings, averaging 20.0 points, 11.5 assists and 6.5 rebounds.

The Suns have struggled to find any sort of consistency, though, and it’s hard to believe they will this late in the season. There’s no reason to go against the red-hot Lakers in this one—so don’t.
