Basketball fans have a nice handful of games to choose from on Monday night, including a couple of games with serious playoff implications. First, the Orlando Magic pay a visit to the New York Knicks.

Orlando (47-26, 30-41-2 ATS) is riding high with a five-game winning streak. The Magic cruised past the New Jersey Nets 95-85 on Friday, but they failed to cover as 13-point favorites. In fact, the Magic are just 1-5 in their past six games against the spread.

The Magic have seemingly bonded for the stretch run. The players have each started growing beards, vowing not to cut them until the season ends. Who knows whether or not the gimmick has worked, but something has got Orlando’s players on the same page.

Injuries could leave the club understaffed against New York, though, as the guards have been bitten hard by the injury bug. Quentin Richardson missed the Nets game with back spasms, though he’s expected to play tonight. Jameer Nelson sat out the second half on Friday and is questionable. The team has already played eight straight games without J.J. Redick (strained stomach muscle) and he could miss yet another game. Online Sports Betting at Sportsbook

New York (35-38, 40-31-2 ATS) is reeling. The Knicks have just one victory in their past 10 outings, not to mention the current six-game losing streak. New York fell 114-106 to the Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday, extending its losing streak to six-games against the spread. New York is 1-9 ATS in its past 10 games.

Earlier this season there were concerns of overusing Amare Stoudemire, and it appears the worst is coming true—Stoudemire is burnt out. He made just four of his 13 field goal attempts against Charlotte, finishing with 14 points. It was the third time in four games Stoudemire has scored 16 points or less.

There’s absolutely no reason to take the Knicks right now. They’ve got zero momentum, while the bearded-up Magic are gaining some steam. Take Orlando.

Trends:

Under is 9-3 in ORL last 12 vs. Eastern Conference.
Under is 17-6 in ORL last 23 overall.
NY are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 Mon. games.

Orlando at New York pick: Magic -1
