Two young, talented teams will hook up on Monday when the Memphis Grizzlies host the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder recently shook up their team at the trade deadline, but injuries have left them shorthanded.

Oklahoma City (38-22, 31-29 ATS) has won back-to-back games, ending a three-game losing streak. The Thunder topped Atlanta 111-104 on Friday, giving them two straight wins against the spread and improving to 5-2 ATS in their past seven games.

The Thunder added Kendrick Perkins, Nate Robinson and Nazr Mohammed at the trade deadline, though Perkins (strained MCL) and Robinson (knee surgery) are currently out with injuries. Obviously, the team is still expected to rely on Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook for scoring, but with Jeff Green being sent off at the deadline, James Harden is expected to step up, especially given the current injuries. Harden is doing a great job so far. The second-year guard is averaging 17.0 points in his past six games, while scoring in double figures in seven straight. With such a bonafide scoring threat off the bench, OKC is likely feeling much better about the choice to ditch Green.

Memphis (34-29, 39-23-1 ATS) lost 98-91 to New Orleans on Friday. The Grizzlies are 3-2 in their past five games, but they’ve been very impressive against the spread, covering four of their past give (they failed to cover as 5.5-point favorites against the Hornets).

Scoring is clearly the Key for Memphis. In the team’s past two losses, it has averaged just 89.5 points per game. In its past three wins, on the other hand, Memphis averaged 111 points per game. Both losses came against some pretty good defenders (San Antonio and New Orleans), but thankfully the Thunder rank just 20th in points allowed per game.

Oklahoma City has more talented, but it’s a little shorthanded thanks to injuries right now. Memphis should be able to score enough points to get by and cover.
