Offensive Powerhouses – Phoenix at Denver

Two of the historically more consistent teams in the NBA, the Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets, battle it out on Thursday night in a game where the Suns have to show something to sports betting fans. Phoenix has been an enigma this season. Even though they are riding a three game winning streak including a terrific victory over the Dallas Mavericks by 28 points, the Suns aren’t nearly as intimidating as they used to be. Their 22 and 13 straight-up record is good enough to get them into the NBA Playoffs, but their record against the spread at 13 and 21 is downright awful. They are 7 and 8 against the BetUS online betting spread in away games this season.

The Denver Nuggets have been an up and coming team for most of the season. Chauncey Billups adds leadership to this team but their top scorer and arguably best player, Carmelo Anthony, has been hurt. The Nuggets have still won 8 out of 10 games straight-up and are 21-17-1 against the BetUS online wagering spread. Their record against the spread at home is 11-8-1.

Here are the BetUS online sportsbook betting odds for this game.

Phoenix Suns +1 ½ – 110 O 220 – 110
Denver Nuggets -1 ½ – 110 U 220 – 110

Here are a few online wagering trends that might help us find a good online bet in this game.

The Phoenix Suns are 1 and 4 against the spread in their last 5 games overall.
The Home team is 13 and 3 against the spread in the last 16 meetings between these two teams.
The Denver Nuggets are 2 and 5 against the spread in their last 7 games versus an opponent from the Western Conference.
The Over is 6 and 1 in the last 7 meetings between these two teams.

This is a watershed game for the Phoenix Suns in the sense that if they cannot beat the Denver Nuggets on the road when Carmelo Anthony is hurt, then they won’t ever be able to get over their losing ways.

The Suns have incredible talent but just haven’t been as good as some NBA betting fans had hoped. Against the spread, this team is downright awful, but their record of 22 and 13 straight-up means that there are a few things working.

The best that can be said about this game is that the Suns come into it healthy while the Nuggets are hurting without Anthony. But the Nuggets are a resilient bunch.

I’m going that say that even though they are resilient, they just don’t have the ability to overcome Shaq, Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire without Carmelo.

Suns vs. Nuggets Prediction:

This is going to be a tough online basketball bet to make, but I have to do it. I’m going to take the Suns against the BetUS online betting spread to beat the 1 ½ points in their game against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night.
