The Oklahoma City Thunder have been a little inconsistent so far this year, but they are still tied atop the Northwest Division. This is a team that shocked the basketball world last year, but everyone has high expectations for them this season. The Houston Rockets are enduring yet another injury-ridden season. Rick Adelman’s team has last Yao Ming for the year once again, and they have had to play short-handed far too often this season.

Oklahoma City isn’t exactly playing up to expectations, but they are still in a good position right now. The team has been solid away from home, but they need to become more efficient as a team. The Thunder average 103 points per game, but they shoot just 45.4% from the field. The saving grace for them so far this year is that they do shoot 83% from the free throw line as a team. If the Thunder are getting to the line often, they are likely going to win the game. Oklahoma City also needs to improve defensively. Sports Betting at Sportsbook.com

They are allowing opponents to knock down 37% of their tries beyond the arc, and 47% of their shots overall. Kevin Durant is having another superb season, but his numbers are down just slightly from last year. Russell Westbrook continues to breakout and he has turned into one of the best point guards in the league. Westbrook is averaging 22 points and 8 assists per game.

The Houston Rockets had been holding up quite well for a long stretch, but recently this team went into a five game losing streak. On Monday they beat the Celtics in Boston to break their streak. Can the Rockets get back on a run again or was it just a one-game surprise? The bad news is they are expected to be without Kevin Martin tonight. Martin is their leading scorer and he is the type of guy that can create shots for himself as well as others. Aaron Brooks is back in the lineup at the point position.

Brad Miller is questionable for tonight’s game, and Miller plays a key role as a backup center. The Rockets have really struggled defensively this season. Houston is allowing 104.5 points per game so far this year. Opponents have had a lot of second-chance opportunities against a short-handed front line of Houston.

Gambling Trends:
Over is 9-2 in OKC last 11 Wed. games.
Under is 6-2 in OKC last 8 road games.
OKC are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games overall.
HOU are 1-6-2 ATS in their last 9 games overall.
HOU are 6-17 ATS in their last 23 Wed. games.

The Pick:

Houston is 10-7 at home this year, but it will be difficult without Martin in the lineup. Oklahoma City is a good road team, and they have far more weapons on offense than the Rockets do. Oklahoma City is 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games, and I think they’ll cover the spread in this one as well.

Oklahoma City vs. Houston Score Prediction: Oklahoma City 108 Houston 100
