San Antonio Spurs vs. L.A. Lakers Gambling & NBA Handicapping Prediction

San Antonio vs LA NBA Gambling Lines

The San Antonio Spurs looked pretty good in their opening win against Memphis. Essentially that game was over after a 30-7 second quarter in favour of the Spurs and they managed the game from there. [ad-4468020]

San Antonio

As a result no one played heavy minutes, not that that would matter so early in the season. Tim Duncan did leave that game with an injury though and is not expected to suit up tonight. Not the most ideal start.

San Antonio showed their depth in the opener with 6 players scoring in double figures. they shot 52% from the field with guard Patty Mills shining as he didn’t miss a shot including three long range bombs. Everyone got into the game which is a nice way to start the season.

With Duncan out for this one it looks like Boris Diaw and newcomer Aron Baynes will see more action than normal.

As good as Duncan is they can manage his absence.

This is an interesting one to handicap so early in the year.

[ad-6571516] The Spurs are supposed to be pretty good and the Lakers aren’t…but the Lakers already have an impressive win and the Spurs are missing Duncan. Hard to find the value on either side so this one might be a pass.

Los Angeles

This Lakers team is probably going to be pretty difficult to get a read on for a while and then we will have to see how they play once Kobe Bryant is back in the lineup. They are 1-1 heading into tonight with a surprise win over the Clippers in a pseudo home game followed by an annihilation by the Golden State Warriors the night after.

That kind of unpredictability is murder on handicappers.

In their win against the Clippers it was the bench that did most of the damage, especially in the 4th quarter. Right now L.A. is not relying too heavily on its stars and again they spread the minutes out evenly at GS. That strategy is giving lots of players a chance but it also means that a lot of shots are going up from places you might rather not.

PG Steve Nash missed the game against the Warriors but he is expected to play tonight.

Backing the Lakers this season is going to be an interesting proposition. We might get some clarity once the Black Mamba is back but even then it will be hard to see just where this team is compared to others.

I don’t like giving up that many points on the road so if I have to make a play it will be with the Lakers but really this game is a pass for me.

Spread Pick: Los Angeles +7
