Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Denver Nuggets Gambling & NBA Handicapping Prediction

Minnesota vs Denver NBA Picks

The Timberwolves are one of the early surprise teams this season with a very good 6-3 start. I wouldn’t have thought this would be the case but they are the second highest scoring team in the league and had a really nice win against Oklahoma State in the first week that said this is a team to be reckoned with. Minnesota

Still many thought .500 was the ceiling for this team so it will be interesting to see how long they can keep this up.

The key to the scoring binge has been the play of new two guard Kevin Martin.

Check out our in-house Handicapper!!! Buy Razor Ray’s NBA Picks!

For the last couple of seasons he hasn’t quite fit in Houston or OKC but this year he is off to a great start, averaging more than 20ppg again. That coupled with a healthy Kevin Love who is averaging a career high 27 really gives pass happy point guard Ricky Rubio something to work with.

Opponents have a lot more to worry about than Love and that is making him more dangerous.

The T-wolves have been a pretty good bet this season going 7-2 ATS overall including a fantastic 4-0 on the road.

Those are the classic signs of an underrated team and with them just a slight favourite against a Denver team still figuring itself out they are a good bet to make on a crowded NBA Friday night.

Denver

Thankfully the Nuggets beat the Jazz earlier in the week or they would have started opening the missile silos in the Rockies. Beating the Jazz is hardly an indicator that this team is going to start turning it around but at the very least it draws a line they are not going to sink below.

For the past several seasons the Nuggets have been one of the most dominant home teams in the league.

This year they are just 2-2. They have to improve that number.

Not making matters any easier is the fact that center Jevale McGee is out indefinitely with a leg injury. McGee was hardly performing well but his absence means more playing time for enigmatic forward J.J. Hickson.

It also means that PF Kenneth Faried is going to have do even more of the dirty work, which on a night he also has to guard Kevin Love is too much unless someone else steps up big time.

I have already touched on the number so here is a quick note about the total – Denver is not the free wheeling high scoring team we all came to know and love. This year PG Ty Lawson is the leading scorer and he is not really a pure scorer so

I am not sure he makes a great lead dog. Maybe not in this one but look closely at unders with Denver.

Spread Pick: Minnesota -1.5
