Golden State Warriors vs. Boston Celtics Gambling & NBA Handicapping Prediction

Golden State vs Boston NBA Picks

The Warriors survived a furious 4th quarter comeback to get a victory at Indiana last night. Beating the Pacers on the road is quite the feat and a tremendous bounceback for a team that outplayed by the Toronto Raptors the game before. [ad-4468020]

Golden State

Unfortunately the victory may set up a classic letdown situation for the Warriors who will be playing Boston on 0 days rest. This is where good teams show their stripes.

When Klay Thompson plays well this team is really tough to beat. His long range shooting makes it nearly impossible for the opposition to give the attention needed to contain Steph Curry, who has a burgeoning mid range game to compliment his long range bombs. He scored 23 points to lead the team over Indiana, helping them overcome that their starting frontcourt totalled just 20 – that is usually a good game for the reliable David Lee.

The Warriors have to be the play against Boston. The line looks manageable and if you agree with me I would bet into it now before it moves. GS is still a relatively young team and they should not have too many problems with a Boston squad that is adrift. Steph Curry can shoot them to a two possession victory

Boston

Boston is playing out the string these days and not looking good doing it. They have won only one of their last 6 games and that was against a slumping Atlanta team. In this the first year of the Brad Stevens era I am still not sure what kind of team they are supposed to be. I know the talent it pretty light but they don’t seem to have much of an identity. At Butler his teams were always scrappy but these pros are not.

I am a Rajon Rondo guy but the numbers don’t lie, they are better in terms of wins and losses without him. That really shouldn’t happen given that he is a plus defensive player and unselfish with the ball but what are you going to do. One guy who should benefit from Rondo’s presence is Brandon Bass. He is a classic role player though who hasn’t stepped forward even though he has been given the chance time and again.

Boston has covered their last two at home and could be getting a winded Warriors team but I don’t think it is enough. Conventional wisdom says fade the team after the emotional victory but the Warriors have proven they know how to put a winning streak together and I think they are just getting started.

Spread Pick: Golden State -4.5
