Chicago Bulls vs. Indiana Pacers Gambling & NBA Handicapping Prediction

Chicago vs Indiana NBA Lines

The Bulls have not gotten off to the start they were hoping for. They have just one win in three games, by a point, and they didn’t look good in the opener against Miami, a team they want to compare themselves to. [ad-4468020]

Chicago

Maybe worst of all they lost to Philadelphia, who despite their fast start is not very good (they just got hammered at home by Golden State).

Indiana is in fine form and the Bulls will have to rise up or else risk losing again and falling deeper behind their division rival.

You hate to pin their struggles all on one player but the Bulls are not getting nearly what they need from PG Derrick Rose. Through three games Rose is shooting a pathetic 28% from the field. Even worse he has a negative assist to turnover ratio making it arguable whether he is doing more harm or good on the court right now.

The Bulls are lucky that PF Carlos Boozer seems to have found the fountain of youth or things could be a lot worse.

I am very surprised the Pacers are not bigger favourite in this one. Chicago is 0-3 ATS in the early going and doesn’t look like they are right on the cusp of playing better either. Until they start showing some better results, I think you need to fade or layoff this team altogether.

If Rose is not getting it done this team is pretty average.

Indiana

Hard to knock what we have seen from the Pacers so far this season as they are a perfect 3-0. They haven’t beaten a good team yet but these wins will count just the same in terms of trying to secure that home court advantage for the playoffs.

They are playing the night before in Detroit but this is a young team and it is still early in the season to be worrying too much about rest.

SF Paul George is picking up right where he left off when we saw him last season. So far he is leading the Pacers in scoring, no surprise, but he is leading in rebounding and assists too. He is getting scoring help from SG Lance Stephenson who might be finally living up to his potential but we haven’t seen much from C Roy Hibbert yet this year.

I know it is early but he isn’t even averaging double digits in the point column.

With this small number I think you have to play the Pacers. They have yet to lose at home this season and they are the better team.

Maybe the lack of rest gives Chicago a little something extra at the end but I like the Pacers depth better anyway. In a one possession game it is hard not to like the home team.

Spread Pick: Indiana -2.5
O/U Pick: Under
Score Prediction: Indiana 83 – Chicago 75
