NBA Predictions: 2014 Milwaukee Bucks Season Betting Preview

Bucks NBA Picks

Milwaukee was terrible last season with a league low 15 victories.  They lost out of the top pick in the draft in the lottery and still do not have a roster that can compete. It is going to be another long year for the Bucks.

Key Losses:

Ramon Sessions – Using the term key is relative when it comes to the Bucks but Sessions is an established player in the league. If he is playing a lot you are in trouble but in a reserve role he can be effective.

Carlos Delfino – Again another relative loss but Delfino is a solid wing player who can do a little bit of everything.

His numbers would have been drastically reduced for sure you know what you are going to get for sure.

Top Newcomers:

Jabari Parker – Perhaps the most pro-ready player in this year draft Parker has a pretty solid all around game. I don’t think he will ever be a great shooter but he might be like Grant Hill, an All-Star small forward.

Jared Dudley – Another small forward, Dudley can stretch a defense and seems to play with a chip on his shoulder.

The latter might be a good quality for a team that is going to lose a lot of games this season.

Kendall Marshall – Forced into some legitimate playing time he showed an ability to be a playmaker last season with the Lakers.

Similar to college he knows how to get his teammates the ball in the right places.

Top Players

Jabari Parker – It is hard to come in and be the saviour right away but that is what Milwaukee needs from Parker if they are going to avoid the lottery again.

The key will be whether Parker can stick to his strengths and develop while losing

O.J. Mayo – Last year I thought he might be a sleeper for the scoring title but he was terrible. If he gets his act together you never know. There will be shots available if he is making his at all.

[dfads params=’groups=63727&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Brandon Knight – Still a young player he had his best season last year averaging 17ppg.

The thing he needs to improve on is efficiency. If the players above are playing well maybe he doesn’t feel like he has to take so many bad shots.

Strengths

To be fair I am not sure there is one for a team this poor. I do like the addition of Parker and acknowledge that they have some long defenders inside who can make it difficult for those attacking the rim on John Henson and Larry Sanders.

The truth is that is an oddly matched roster and it won’t be until we see some real games that we will have any sense of how they are going to play.

Weaknesses

There is absolutely no post presence on offense for the Bucks.

Parkers spent a fair amount of time in college operating down there but it might be a stretch to assume he can have success doing so in the NBA so early in his career. Its not that every team need a dominant low post scorer but without a threat it is difficult to get consistent good looks on the perimeter.

There is a little bit of offensive talent on this team but they are going to find it tough to score.

4* FREE NBA Prediction: 5th Place Central Division

It is very likely that this team is the worst in the league once again and right now it is hard to find anything for you to hang your hat on offensively or defensively.

When you look at things objectively they might be an underdog in every game they play this season – wouldn’t that be something. If I had to think of any angles where it might make sense to get on their games I guess it would be the under.

They are going to struggle to score for sure and sometimes their opponents will be off.

Sometimes.
