NBA Power Rankings | ||||
This Week | Last Week | Comment
| 1 | Cleveland Cavaliers | Could probably rest LeBron in first round of playoffs, too
| 2 | Orlando Magic | Keep an eye on Vince Carter and his ailing toes
| 3 | Los Angeles Lakers | Lakers may indeed get to Finals, but could have to beat Spurs, Mavericks and Suns to get there
| 4 | Dallas Mavericks | Triple-double for Kidd vs. Kings shows he may have life left for a last playoff run
| 6 | Utah Jazz | Korver will soon own record for single-season 3-point percentage shooting
| 5 | Phoenix Suns | 91 points scored vs. Thunder last week lowest since Dec. 2 (Cleveland)
| 10 | Denver Nuggets | Finale at Phoenix on Tuesday will have playoff implications
| 9 | San Antonio Spurs | Solid win at Denver showed everyone they still have some life
| 7 | Atlanta Hawks | Home court edge and 3 seed mean more to Hawks than to Celtics
| 8 | Boston Celtics | So a team that falls behind the Wizards by 31 at home has a chance to win the title? Right
| 11 | Oklahoma City Thunder | Scott Brooks is the coach of the year
| 13 | Miami Heat | Heat were playing great, but loss to Detroit is a real head-scratcher
| 14 | Charlotte Bobcats | Long-term question: Can Larry Brown and Michael Jordan co-exist?
| 12 | Portland Trail Blazers | Amazing the team has stayed together considering injuries and front office turmoil
| 15 | Milwaukee Bucks | Without Bogut, Bucks are one-and-done in playoffs, but it’s been a good ride
| 16 | Memphis Grizzlies | Lionel Hollins calls out his team after loss to Mavericks
| 18 | Houston Rockets | No team plays harder than Rockets, and no player plays harder than Luis Scola
| 19 | Chicago Bulls | A few more games, then front office plots moves to get James or Wade
| 17 | Toronto Raptors | Complete indifference on the defensive end led to lots of wins for Over players
| 20 | New Orleans Hornets | Paul out again (finger). Give it a rest and come back in October
| 21 | Indiana Pacers | Hibbert should spend the entire off-season working on his rebounding. Pacers were killed on boards all season
| 22 | New York Knicks | Three straight seasons with at least 50 losses
| 25 | Los Angeles Clippers | Blake Griffin and another top-10 pick? Never mind, we always say these guys will be better and they never are
| 23 | Philadelphia 76ers | Thaddeus Young done for year. Injuries slowed progress of excellent small forward
| 27 | Detroit Pistons | Pistons have soured on Charlie Villaneueva
| 24 | Sacramento Kings | Lots of bad road teams in NBA this year, and Kings were one of them
| 28 | Washington Wizards | Is any team happier to see the season come to an end?
| 26 | Golden State Warriors | Nice-guy Nellie deserved better if this is his last NBA rodeo
| 30 | Minnesota Timberwolves | Either Kevin Love or Al Jefferson will be on the roster next season, but not both
| 29 | New Jersey Nets | Mike Krzyzewski turned down the Nets before they even offered him the job |
