NBA Betting – Pistons vs. Pacers (Jan. 14)

Free pick and preview plus NBA betting odds and basketball lines for the matchup featuring the Detroit Pistons and the Indiana Pacers…

NBA Division Rivals – Pacers vs Pistons

The Detroit Pistons (22-14 SU, 16-20 ATS, 14-22 O/U) have dropped two straight games in the BetUS Sportsbook and three of its last four overall. The Indiana Pacers (13-25 SU, 19-18-1 ATS, 25-12-1 O/U) have lost three consecutive games and four of its last five overall. Tonight, the longtime Central Division rivals will each look to get back in the win column when they meet at Conseco Fieldhouse.

The Pistons are coming off a narrow 80-78 loss to the Charlotte Bobcats on Tuesday night, failing to cover the spread for BetUS NBA sports betting backers as a 7-point home favorite in the BetUS Sportsbook just as I predicted in the BetUS Locker Room earlier in the day.

Detroit got a team-high 22 points from blossoming second-year point guard Rodney Stuckey but saw its trio of Allen Iverson, Richard Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince combine to just 34 points while shooting an anemic 13-for-36 from the field.

Detroit managed to score just 10 points in the fourth quarter, losing on a last-second shot by Bobcats’ point guard Raymond Felton.

“We were up 78-71 in a game that we should have won easily, and we didn’t get it done,” guard Allen Iverson said. “That’s unacceptable.”

The Pacers are coming off a disheartening 120-113 loss to the Utah Jazz on Monday, but covered the spread for BetUS NBA sports betting buffs everywhere as 10-point road underdogs in the BetUS Locker Room.

Forward Danny Granger led the way with 30 points on 10-for-19 shooting while dishing out seven assists in the loss as the Pacers allowed Jazz center Mehmet Okur to score 43 points.

The Pacers haven’t held an opponent to fewer than 90 points in more than two months, and their last six foes have all scored at least 110 points while giving up at least 120 points in each of their last three contests.

“I think there has to be a commitment (to defense) on our part. We need to commit to doing,” Granger said. “We talk a lot and say we are going to do it. When it comes down to it we just don’t do it. We do it on occasion. That’s not going to win enough games.”

Indiana Pacers +1½ -110

Over 199½ -110
Under 199½ -110

Analysis: I’ll make this pick short and sweet by simply saying that the Detroit Pistons are going to spank the Pacers fairly handily tonight while covering the spread with plenty of wriggle room for wary NBA sports betting backers.

Don’t think twice here beloved NBA sports bettors, take the Pistons and wait for the winnings to roll in.
