NBA Handicapping Predictions – Celtics vs Heat

The Boston Celtics had a chance to finish out this series at home in Game Six, but LeBron James and the Heat absolutely dismantled the Celtics from the opening tip.

Miami played its best basketball of the playoffs, but Boston is a veteran team that should show lots of pride in the deciding game of this series.

It all comes down to this one. The Celtics against the Heat in Miami for a trip to the NBA Finals.

Boston looked listless in Game Six, especially on the defensive end. LeBron James did whatever he wanted in that game, and the game was never really in question. Paul Pierce went a miserable 4 for 18 from the floor, and Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen struggled as well. The Celtics made just 1 out of 14 three-point attempts in Game Six.

Rajon Rondo was really the only Boston player to show up on Thursday night. If Boston is going to win Game Seven in Miami, it will take a big effort from veterans like Pierce and Garnett.

The Celtics must be aggressive and get to the free throw line. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

LeBron James certainly quieted his critics for at least one game with his brilliant showing in Game Six. James piled up 30 points in the first half en route to a 45 point showing in Game Six.

He was 19 for 26 from the floor, and he made some extremely difficult shots in the first half. Chris Bosh gave the Heat 28 solid minutes of action in Game Six, and he appears to be pretty healthy at this point. The Heat can’t afford to get complacent after coming up with a big win in Boston.

Miami is nearly unbeatable when they are fully committed on the defensive end. Can Miami keep the foot on the accelerator and get to a second straight NBA Finals?

I definitely give the Heat the edge in this game, but eight points is a lot for a Game Seven against a team who has already won a title.

Look for Boston to play hard and keep it close.
