Chicago Bulls vs. Philadelphia 76ers Preview

The 76ers shot a season low field goal percentage and scored the fewest points in Game 5 and they will need good games from Andre Iguodala, Jrue Holiday, and Lou Williams in order to close out the series.

In Game 4 the Bulls beat the 76ers 77-69.

This season the Bulls are 40-30-1 ATS with an O/U record of 33-37-1 and the 76ers are 36-34-1 ATS with an O/U record of 32-39.

Joakim Noah has missed the last 2 games of this series with a sprained ankle and he is listed as questionable for tonight’s game.

Iguodala, Holiday, and Williams were a combined 13/46 from the floor in Game 2 and if they struggle with their shot again there will likely be a Game 7.

The Bulls also did not shoot well in Game 5, but their 2 key players of Carlos Boozer and Luol Deng combine for 43 points and each shot around 50% from the floor. Boozer was a monster in the game with 13 rebounds and Elton Brand and Spencer Hawes have to play better D on him tonight and now allow him to get easy points in the lane and dominate the glass. While the 76ers struggled to score in Game 5 they did have 23 points on the fast break and the Bulls have to keep Philly from getting out on the break and getting easy points.

Even in the win in Game 5 the Bulls only took 11 free throws and the 76ers can’t shoot at bad in 2 games in a row so Boozer and company have to attack the rim and get to the charity stripe and not just settle for jumpers.

Chicago G duo of Richard Hamilton and C.J. Watson combine for only 11 points on 5/19 shooting in Game 5 and these guys are key, as they need to score and hit their jumpers so the 76ers do not pack the lane to contain Boozer and Deng.

In some betting trends for this Eastern Conference match up the Bulls are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 road games, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games as a road underdog, and they have an Under record of 5-0 in their last 5 road games.

The 76ers are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall, 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games, and they have an Under record of 5-1 in their last 6 home games.

Jason’s Pick: This one is a tough one to call, but I think the scrappy Bulls will play well again tonight on the defensive end and they may not win, but they will keep it close and, at least, cover the spread.
