The Philadelphia 76ers and the Miami Heat square-off this upcoming Saturday afternoon in Game 1 of a best-of-seven first round matchup in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. (ET) and it will be broadcast nationally on ABC.

Philadelphia returns to the postseason after a disastrous 2010 campaign under the guidance of first-year head coach Doug Collins. The 76ers finished the season 41-41 straight-up and 46-35-1 against the spread. They went 26-15 SU at home (23-18 ATS) and 15-26 SU on the road (23-17-1 ATS). The total has stayed ‘under’ in eight of their last nine games.

Elton Brand’s 15 points a game leads a group of six players scoring in double-figures. Andre Iguodala remains the team’s best all-around player with 14.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 6.3 assists a game. The Sixers should get a boost in this game if Lou Williams is ready to go. He missed the last five games with a sore hamstring.

Miami begins its quest for a World Title firing on all cylinders with 12 wins in its last 14 games to finish the season with an overall record of 58-24 SU (40-41-1 ATS) The Heat were 30-11 SU (16-15 ATS) at home this season and they went 28-13 SU (24-16-1 ATS) on the road. The total has stayed ‘under’ in five of their last seven games.

The Big Three accounted for close to 70 percent of the team’s offensive production this season with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade each averaging around 26 points a game and Chris Bosh adding another 18.7. The Heat have one of the best scoring differentials against their opponents in the league. They are averaging 102.1 points a game while only giving up an average of 94.6.

Head-to-head, Miami won all three games this season SU and was 2-1 ATS. The total stayed ‘under’ in two of the three.

While you never want to give up 10 ½ points in a playoff game, stick with the Heat in this one as they will look to light things up in South Beach with a big win in Game 1.

NBA Gambling Trends:
Under is 6-2 in MIA last 8 vs. NBA Atlantic.
MIA are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games overall.
Home team is 17-7 ATS in the last 24 meetings.
Under is 11-5-1 in the last 17 meetings.

The Pick: Miami -10.5
