Chicago Bulls vs. Boston Celtics Free Pick & Gambling Preview

Bulls vs Celtics – NBA Handicapping

Two of the East’s top teams will do battle on Sunday when the Chicago Bulls face off with the Boston Celtics in Beantown.

Date/Time: 3:30 PM ET, Sunday, February 12, 2012
Venue: TD Garden, Boston, Massachusetts
Broadcast: ESPN
Spread: Chicago -2.5
Over/Under: 174

Chicago comes into Sunday’s matinee with 23 wins and are tearing through their schedule en route to being the top seeded team in the Eastern Conference.

They have already clearly proven that they can beat the better teams and win the games that matter most, and will be no push over on the road in this one.

The amazing thing is that they have been winning, even without incumbent MVP Derrick Rose in the lineup. Rose is still sidelined with back spasms and is currently listed as questionable for today’s Eastern showdown.

Sunday’s game will conclude a brutal nine-game road trip for Chicago which began back on January 29th.

After starting the span 1-2 in the first three, the Bulls have poured it on rolling up five straight victories including a 95-64 blowout over Charlotte and a 90-67 drubbing of the pitiful Hornets.

Those two wins complete four straight by at least a 21-point margin of victory. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Meanwhile, Boston started to begin to look like they may have found their groove towards the end of January, but they have dropped their last two with an overtime loss to the Lakers at home, and then losing to the Raptors by 12 on the road.

The Celts have been inconsistent for the most part, and you just can’t ever be sure which players or team will show up on any given night.
Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo have both had monster performances this season with 30-point games and triple-double finishes, but gave struggled as well, putting up just five and six points respectively against a team like Toronto.

Of course, veterans Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett are still performing well despite being clearly up there in age, but they won’t be able to do it all on their own, especially with the condensed season schedule.

Free Pick: Chicago 92, Boston 89- The Bulls are on fire and the aging legs of Boston are too inconsistent to make them the safe play right now.

The game will be close with Chicago having just a little more in the tank at the end of this one.
