The New Orleans Hornets will try and avoid a season sweep to the red-hot Chicago Bulls when the two teams square off tonight at the United Center. Game time is set for 8 p.m. and it will be available on NBA League Pass.

The month of March has gotten off to a better start for New Orleans with two wins in its first four games after losing eight of 12 in February. The Hornets are coming off a 96-81 romp over Cleveland on Sunday as a 4 ½-point road favorite. The win raised their record to 37-28 SU overall (31-33-1 against the spread), leaving them in sixth-place in the Western Conference standings.

Sunday’s win proved costly as Chris Paul went down with an apparent concussion and is listed as doubtful for this game. He is New Orleans second leading scorer with 15.9 points and is averaging a team-high 9.6 assists a game. The Hornets will look to David West, who leads the team with 18.8 points a game and Trevor Ariza, who is third in scoring with 11 points, to pick up the slack in his absence.

Chicago remains on a roll with five wins in its last six games including a thrilling 87-86 victory over Miami as a 5 ½-point road underdog yesterday afternoon. The Bulls have the second-best record in the Eastern Conference at 43-18 SU (37-22-2 ATS) and trail Boston by just three games.

Derrick Rose continues to put up MVP-like numbers with 24.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and a team-high 8.1 assists a game. Carlos Boozer is second in scoring with 18.4 points and is averaging 9.7 rebounds a game. Chicago is averaging 97.8 points and outscoring its opponents by close to six points a game.

New Orleans lost to the Bulls 97-88 on Feb.12 as a three-point home underdog. With Chris Paul on the shelf, the Hornets will be hard-pressed to come into Chicago and keep this game close enough to cover the eight points on the road.
