NBA Betting – Nets vs. Heat

Free pick and preview plus NBA betting odds and basketball lines for the matchup featuring the New Jersey Nets and the Miami Heat…

NBA Basketball ‘Lock Alert’– New Jersey Nets at Miami Heat

The New Jersey Nets (2-3 SU, 2-3 ATS, 1-4 O/U) and Miami Heat (3-3 SU, 3-2-1 ATS, 1-5 O/U) are each coming off convincing double-digit losses in the BetUS Sportsbook in their last contests – which is exactly why this game is an absolute ‘lock’ for BetUS NBA sports betting fanatics! New Jersey was spanked by the Indiana Pacers on Saturday, losing 98-80 on the road but didn’t have starting point guard Devin Harris available just one game after Harris scored a career-high 38 points in the team’s 103-96 win over the Detroit Pistons.

The Heat were beaten soundly also, losing to the New Orleans Hornets 100-89 on Saturday despite getting a game-high 30 points from superstar shooting guard Dwyane Wade. New Jersey got a game-high 31 points from shooting guard Vince Carter in their loss to Indiana but saw only one other player reach double figures in scoring as the team shot just 38.7 percent from the field in the loss, while simultaneously allowing six Pacers players to reach double digits in scoring.

The team may be without Harris, who is averaging 18.8 points and 4.8 assists, again tonight after the lightning-quick point guard sprained ankle against Detroit. “It puts more responsibility on me,” Carter said. “But that’s no excuse, either.

This is a team game, and it’s going to take a collective effort to win games. Despite Wade’s fine performance, the Heat trailed the Hornets by as much as 17 points and never got closer than seven points from the midway mark of the fourth quarter.

Rookie Michael Beasley and former all-star forward Shawn Marion, the team’s second and third options on offense, each scored just 10 points.

Here is a look at the key trends for each team, followed by my in-depth analysis and NBA Free Picks:

The Nets are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a SU loss of more than 10 points.

The Nets are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. NBA Southeast.

The Heat are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. loss.

The Heat are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 1 days rest.

The Under is 6-0 in Nets last 6 Monday games.

The Under is 9-1 in Heat last 10 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.

The Nets are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Miami.

The Road team is 6-0 ATS in the last 6 meetings.

NBA Odds

New Jersey Nets +8½ -110

Miami Heat -8½ -110 Over 187 -110 Under 187 -110

Analysis: Even though the Nets may be without Harris for the second consecutive game tonight, I just don’t believe the Miami heat are nine points better than new Jersey, even at home. Simply put, take the Nets to cover the spread and the Over as neither team is what I’d call a defensive juggernaut.
