We’ve been saying for so long that the Hawks are a young team, we forget that they are no longer a young team.

Joe Johnson, Josh Smith, Al Horford and the boys have been through the playoff wars for a few years and they are basically a healthy lot as they begin to once again machete their way through the playoff jungle.

Two years ago they extended the eventual NBA-champion Celtics to 7 before expiring.

Last year they took care of the Heat before melting against the Cavs. This year the Bogut-less Bucks should not be too much of an obstacle before an expected second-round matchup against Orlando.

With Milwaukee devoid of an kind of inside game, this series will force basketball purists to throw up in their mouths as both teams isolate and take the ball to the basket time after time.

Bucks vs Hawks Series Betting Odds:
Bucks +550
Hawks -750

Bucks vs. Hawks Prediction: Atlanta in 6.

Bogut’s injury has forced Milwaukee to alter its entire offense on the fly, and Atlanta – never a smart team defensively – could have some trouble dealing with the Bucks’ offensive patience. Scott Skiles is also a better coach than Mike Woodson, and that should be worth a few points a game, especially in Milwaukee. In the end, though, the Hawks have too many weapons.
