The Miami Heat will try to extend their series lead on Thursday night in Game 3 of their best-of-seven matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Tip-off from the Wells Fargo Center is set for 8 p.m. (ET) and the game will be broadcast nationally on TNT.

Miami can open a 3-0 series lead after a closer-than-expected 97-89 victory in Saturday’s Game 1 as a 10 ½-point home favorite and a 94-73 romp as a nine-point home favorite this past Monday night. The total stayed ‘under’ the 190-point line in both games.

Chris Bosh led the way in Saturday’s game with 25 points and 12 rebounds, while Lebron James added 21 points and Dwyane Wade scored 17. James took home the honors on Monday night with a game-high 29 points. Bosh scored 21 points and Wade added 14 to round out South Beach’s Big Three. The Heat have been able to dominate Philadelphia under the boards the first two games with a 98-79 edge in rebounds.

Philadelphia’s comeback attempt in Game 1 fell short after closing the gap to 88-87 late in the fourth. It was never in the game on Monday night after falling behind by 18 points at the half. The Sixers could do nothing to stop Miami from extending the lead in the second half and fell behind by 23 points after three quarters in the lopsided loss.

Thaddeus Young has come off the bench in both games to lead the team in scoring with a combined 38 points. Philly’s top two scorers in the regular season; Elton Brand and Andre Iguodala combined for a meager eight points in Game 2. The 76ers have struggled from the field, hitting just 37.7 percent of its shots from the floor, but they have gone 13-for-33 from three-point range, which is slightly better than their 35.5 percent season average.

Head-to-head, Miami has won the last nine games straight-up, but is just 5-4 against the spread. This game will be the Sixers best chance to salvage a win in this series and while the Heat will most likely still find a way to win, stick with Philly to cover with the 4 ½ points.

NBA Gambling Trends:

Under is 10-1 in PHI last 11 overall.
