The Miami Heat have lost four  in a row on the road and will look to get back on the rails when they tip off against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday.

Just one night after a monster game in a loss 93-88 road loss to the New York, Heat guard Dwyane Wade missed Friday night’s 88-87 victory over the Pistons because of a sprained right wrist. Wade injured the wrist during the second half of Thursday night’s contest and is listed as day-to-day for Sunday’s road game against Oklahoma City.

This is not good news for a Miami team that is already struggling without Chris Bosh for a fourth consecutive game. The starting power forward will also remain sidelined with an ankle sprain.

Eddie House drained two free throws with 6.5 seconds to play as Miami edged out a thrilling one-point victory over the Pistons. Having lost five of their previous six, they were led by LeBron James who registered 39 points, nine assists and eight rebounds as the depleted Miami bench helped out with 15 points including a double-double by Mike Miller.

Meanwhile, the Thunder nearly blew one at home Friday to a hapless Washington. The league’s leading scorer Kevin Durant — 28.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.1 steals and 39.6 minutes in 41 games — netted 10 of his 40 points in the second overtime,  while Russell Westbrook added his third triple-double of the season as OKC rolled past the Wiz, 124-117 on Friday. All this, just 24-hours after edging out a one-point victory in overtime at Minnesota.

The 22-year-old Durant, who scored his first All-Star start, will face one of the Eastern Conference starters Sunday in James.

The Thunder has won the last two meetings including a 90-80 victory on Jan 17 of last season.

Oklahoma were not impressive in their tilt against the Wiz and are probably counting their lucky stars that they did not become known as the team that finally ended Washington’s winless streak on the road.OKC were playing horribly defensively for most of the game, and the Wizards were constantly finding ways to score on offense, especially inside.

The Heat may be banged up, but if the Thunder can’t shore up their defense for Sunday’s game, James could embarrass them single-handily on their home court.

Matt’s Free Prediction: Thunder 101, Heat 97
