Chicago Bulls vs. Washington Wizards Preview

On the season the Bulls are 12-14 ATS and they have an O/U record of 14-11-1 and the Wizards are 11-15 ATS and they have an Under record of 13-12-1.

This season the Wizards are 13-3 at home and the Bulls are 12-4 on the road.

In their last games the Bulls beat the Toronto Raptors 129-120 and the Wizards lost to the Phoenix Suns 104-92.

The Wizards beat the Bulls in the playoffs last season, but it is a different Chicago team now with Pau Gasol and Derrick Rose back. Washington is the 3.5-point home betting underdog, but they are coming a loss and will face a Bulls team that has the best road record in the Eastern Conference.

It is no surprise that to beat the Wiz teams have to play good perimeter defense facing the top 2 scorers in guards John Wall and Bradley Beal. Wall has averaged 22.4 ppg in his last 5 regular season games facing the Bulls. However, Wall did not have a good game in the loss to Phoenix and Beal is in a slump shooting less than 29% from the field in his last 3 games.

The Wizards rank in the middle of the pack in terms of scoring, but their defense has been solid ranking 7th in the league in opponents’ points allowed.

The Bulls are a balanced team that ranks 12th in the league in ppg and 12th in the league in opponents’ points allowed. Chicago has won 3 straight and the main reason is their offense, which is averaging 106.7 ppg.

Jimmy Butler is much improved for the Bulls this season averaging nearly 9 more ppg than last season. He leads a Bulls’ squad that has 6 players averaging in double figures. Butler is averaging over 30 ppg in the Bulls winning streak.

Rode is back after missing a couple of days due to illness and he went for 29 against the Raptors and in his last 8 games facing the Wizards he is averaging 26.4 ppg.

Marcin Gortat is the big guy in the paint for the Wizards and he will need help inside tonight facing the Chicago tandem of Pau Gasol and Joakim Noah.
