The best team in the Eastern Conference of the NBA meets a team that represented the East in the NBA Finals two seasons ago as the Chicago Bulls visit the Orlando Magic on Sunday afternoon at the Amway Center.
The Bulls have locked up the top seed in the East, meaning they will face Indiana in the first of the playoffs. The Bulls need just two victories to reach 60 on the season, marking the first time since 1997-98 when some guy named Jordan was leading them to championships.
Now the Bulls are paced by the great young point guard Derrick Rose. He is in the top ten in the league in scoring and assists. If he finishes the season that way, he’ll join Jordan as only players to do so in one season in franchise history. Counting their victory Thursday over Boston, the Bulls have held opponents under 90 points in 25 of their last 38 contests.
Chicago ranks first in the league in opponent field goal percentage allowed. The Bulls started the season with a 10-8 record, but are 47-12 entering Friday’s game against Cleveland since then. The Bulls have a 13-4 record against teams from the Southeast Division. The Bulls have won two of three games this season against the Magic, including the last two straight and the previous meeting in Mickey Mouse’s neighborhood. 
Orlando has won five of the last six at home against the Bulls. With a victory on Friday against Charlotte, the Magic would reach 50 wins for the seventh time and for the fourth consecutive season.
The Magic made a huge trade back in mid-December, acquiring Gilbert Arenas, Jason Richardson, and Hedo Turkoglu, and the club is 32-19 since. They’re scoring and assists per game are up since the trade. Orlando is 28-11 in home contests this season, and they lead the league three-point field goals made and attempted.

Matt’s Free Prediction: Bulls – Chicago is clicking on all cylinders right now, and Rose is on his way to winning the league MVP award. The Bulls have both Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer healthy and playing well, which means they can face-up guard Dwight Howard and not have to foul him constantly as other teams lacking size have to do. They should be able to exploit their rebounding advantage in this contest.
