L.A. Lakers vs. New Orleans Hornets Preview

The Lakers turned things around with their defense in Game 2 winning and evening this series at a game apiece. NBA lines have the visiting Lakers as 5-point favorites with a total of 184.

In Game 2 the Lakers won 87-78 and the total went Under and for the 2nd straight game in the series the Hornets covered the spread.

This season the Hornets are 41-41-2 ATS and the Lakers are 39-44-1 ATS. The Lakers have covered the spread 4 times in their last 5 games facing the Hornets in New Orleans.

The Lakers beat the Hornets in both their regular season games in the Big Easy.

Even though the Hornets still have home court advantage in this series after winning Game 1 things do not look good for them, as for a 2nd straight game Pau Gasol struggled and Kobe Bryant only had 11 points and the Lakers still won. Andrew Bynum, Lamar Odom, and Ron Artest picked up the slack in Game 2 combining for 48 points and the Hornets have to keep the other Lakers from having big scoring games not just Kobe and Pau. NBA Betting

Trevor Ariza played well in Game 2 going for 22 points, but for the Hornets to win they will need good games from Carl Landry and their bench, which they did not get in Game 2. Landry only went for 12 points on 4/12 shooting and the entire New Orleans’ bench scored a grand total of 13 points in Game 2.

It seems as if the Lakers figured out how to contain Paul, duh put the Black Mamba on him, and it will only be a matter of time before Gasol gets back on track. Even though Gasol struggled in Game 2 he was aggressive and that set the tone for the game. Look for the Lakers to play another great game on D, as they will easily win this game, cover the 5-point spread, and take back home court advantage in this series.
