NBA Sports Betting – Heat Host Kings, Both Teams Looking For First Win
The Sacramento Kings (0-1 SU, 1-0 ATS, 0-1 O/U) put up a valiant effort but fell just short in dropping their season opener 98-96 to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday. The Miami Heat (0-1 SU, 0-1 ATS, 1-0 O/U) also put their best foot forward before losing to the New York Knicks 120-115 on Wednesday as well.
Now, both teams will be trying to pick up a victory for BetUS NBA sports betting enthusiasts when the teams square off tonight.
Heat superstar Dwyane Wade had a phenomenal game against the T-Wolves, totaling 26 points, seven rebounds and nine assists before fouling out with 1:25 left
“I’ve been on a team like this before and I understand when it goes well, it can go well,” said Wade. “And I also know when it goes bad, it can go bad, from last season. So just trying to figure out our identity.”
Miami’s pair of rookie starters, Michael Beasley and Mario Chalmers added nine and 17 points while power forward Udonis Haslem scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Miami covered the spread in the betUS Sportsbook as 6-point underdogs.
“We started the game so slow,” said Beasley, the No. 2 overall pick. “By the time we woke up, it was too late.”
Forward Shawn Marion added 14 points and 11 rebounds for Miami.
Sacramento played hard for second-year head coach Reggie Theus in losing to the young Timberwolves as veteran shooting guard John Salmons scored 24 points and surprise first round draft pick Jason Thompson who added 18 points and 10 rebounds in 22 minutes off the bench.
“We’re proud that we hung in there,” said Salmons. “We never gave up, we kept fighting. That’s an encouraging thing. Definitely built some character today.”
Sacramento also covered the spread as 6-point underdogs to get off to a 1-0 ATS start.

Sacramento Kings +5½ -110
Miami Heat -5½ -110
Over 204½ -110
Under 204½ -110
Analysis: The Heat are going to struggle again this season as they really don’t have any low-post scorer than can go to on a consistent basis other than rookie Michael Beasley, who is more of a small forward than a prototypical ‘four’ anyway.
Simply put, I like the Kings, manage to cover the spread here even if they do get beaten by the already, desperate-looking Heat.
