ATS Matchup Insight | CappersPicks Insider Preview

In losing five of their last seven games, the Pacers have had a ton of trouble scoring the basketball, averaging just 80.6 points per game over those last seven contests. The team didn’t have that same problem in their last game, a 101-94 win over the Detroit Pistons.

Not surprisingly, it was Paul George leading the way in that one, filling up the stat sheet with 27 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, and two steals. Each of the Pacers’ five starters scored in double-figures in the game, and the team shot 49.4 percent from the field.

That improved offensive play didn’t come at the expense of the team’s defense, as the Pacers limited the Pistons to just 36.6 percent shooting from the field.

As for the Raptors, they played their last game without point guard Kyle Lowry, but still managed to sneak past the Houston Rockets, 107-103. Greivis Vasquez filled in admirably, scoring 15 points while dishing out eight assists.

Shooting guard DeMar DeRozan had a very efficient night himself, leading all scorers with 29 points on 10-of-19 shooting, chipping in six rebounds, four assists, and a pair of steals. DeRozan leads the Raptors with 22.8 points per game and has averaged 28.3 over his last four games. In total, the Raptors shot 45.3 percent from the field and 40.0 percent from beyond the arc in the win.

The Raptors hope to get Kyle Lowry back for this game after he missed their contest against the Rockets due to a knee injury. Whether he returns in this one or not, they’ll look to continue to get strong play from their defense, which has allowed just 92.7 points per game in their last 14 contests, picking up 12 wins in those 14 games.

With the Pacers struggling to score points, and the Raptors offering up an underrated but strong defense, there may not be too many points in this one. The Pacers can play at that end of the court as well, which should mean scoring will be at a premium.

The under is 5-0 in the Pacers’ last five road games, and 9-1 in their last 10 games overall.

The under is 4-0 in the last four meetings between these teams, and 5-1 in the last six meetings in Toronto.
