NBA Superstars go head to head – Cavs vs. Hornets

The New Orleans Hornets (23-12, 15-18-2 ATS, 15-20 O/U) have alternated wins and losses in each of their last seven games. The Cleveland Cavaliers (30-6, 26-10 ATS, 17-19 O/U) had their three—game winning streak emphatically snapped the last time they took the floor. Tonight, both teams will be looking to record a victory in the BetUS Sportsbook when they meet at Quicken Loans Arena.

All-star point guard Chris Paul recorded a triple-double with 33 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the Hornets to a 102-94 win over the Mavericks on Wednesday, helping New Orleans cover the spread in the BetUS Sportsbook as a 4.5-point road favorite while the game’s 196 points made it OVER the posted O/U total of 189.5.

“You don’t expect a triple-double every night and you don’t expect him to have seven steals, either, but it was one of those games where he was all over the place,” New Orleans coach Byron Scott said. “He’s a very special player.”

Fellow all-star, David West and dead-eye shooter Peja Stojakovic each added 16 points in the win.

The Cavaliers were defeated 102-93 by the Bulls on Thursday, failing to cover the spread for BetUS NBA betting backers as 8-point road favorites while the game’s 195 total points fell UNDER the posted O/U total of 196.5 points.

LeBron James scored a team-high 28 points to go along with 14 rebounds in the loss but shot a dismal 8-for-28 from the field while committing eight turnovers.

“I absolutely had no lift tonight,” James said. “Every time that happens, when I get sick, I miss layups – layup after layup, things I usually make.”

NBA Odds

New Orleans Hornets +3 -110
Cleveland Cavaliers -3 -110

Over 185½ -110
Under 185½ -110

Analysis: The Cleveland Cavaliers are coming off an emphatic loss in their last outing while the New Orleans Hornets have been maddeningly inconsistent lately. Cleveland hasn’t lost home so far this season and I don’t expect them to in this contest even without shooting guard Delonte West. I think all signs point to a Cavaliers win and narrow cover if you ask me.

As an aside, I also like the Over in a big way and think it may be the best bet on the board for this matchup.
