This should be a very fun game to watch in the young NBA season.
The Houston Rockets with Dwight Howard in the middle of the paint have shored up their defense. Last year the Rockets ended up allowing 102.5 points per game, but three games into this year the Rockets are only giving up 93.7 points per game.
A huge turn around so far, but their defense will be pushed and tested versus the Clippers and, more than likely, will end up moving up a couple of points though after the Clippers game.

The Clippers have scored 113 points per game in their three games into the season so far and four of their five starting players are averaging over 11 points a game, so far. So, this game will be very interesting to watch.
Not only are these two of the top Western Conference teams in the NBA, but this is a battle between a stingy defense versus a very explosive offense.
In this particular match up, I favor the explosive offense for a few reasons. First off, the Los Angeles Clippers are at home. The Clippers are a good home team, and in particular, good teams at home are tough to beat in the NBA. Plus, the big key in this game is the Houston Rockets may be pretty tired coming into this game.

The Rockets had to play back-to-back games on November 1st and 2nd, and in the second game versus the Utah Jazz they started really sluggish. They were down by 16 going into halftime, but they eventually rallied and beat the Jazz by eleven points to cover.

In this game, though, I think it’s a tough task to do that again. The Los Angeles Clippers are a highly explosive team and one of the top teams in the NBA. The Houston Rockets are traveling on the road again, early in the season like this against a top team like the Clippers this has the makings of a loss for the Rockets.
The Rockets will probably be a bit tired and when playing a top team on the road in the NBA it’s tough to win.
So, overall, I really like the Clippers in this game. I believe the Clippers definitely win this game and the -5 point spread on the Clippers is a decent value pick.
But, If you are looking for more bang for your buck I believe the game goes over, as well.
