Milwaukee: 46-36 SU, 53-28-1 ATS
The Bucks proved they don’t need Andrew Bogut to win any particular game after beating Atlanta on Saturday—but can they win a series without their big man? The Atlanta Hawks take a 2-1 series lead into Milwaukee on Monday night in this first-round NBA Playoffs series.
Matchup: Hawks vs Bucks
Time: Monday at 8:30 p.m. ET
Venue: Bradley Center
Spread: Hawks -1.5
Bucks +1.5

The Hawks were on a roll before Milwaukee got in the way with a 107-89 win in Game 3 on Saturday. The loss snapped a six-game winning streak for Atlanta. It also derailed some momentum at the sportsbook, as the Hawks had ripped off five consecutive victories against the spread.
Facing another game in Milwaukee doesn’t bode well for Atlanta’s chances against the spread—the Hawks are 3-4 ATS in their last seven road games.
Besides Joe Smith, Atlanta’s starters were relatively ineffective. Johnson dropped 25 points on the Bucks (adding six rebounds and four assists) but no other Hawk surpassed 10 points.
In fact, the other four starters totalled just 31 points. Significantly more production will be required going forward. Zaza Pachulia was solid off the bench with 16 points, but Jamal Crawford didn’t bring his usual A-game to the table; Crawford, who averaged 18 points per game during the regular season, managed just 11 in Game 3.
Milwaukee desperately needed the Game 3 victory, not only to avoid falling into an 0-3 hole, but also to claim just its second win in six games.
Results have been equally disastrous on NBA odds, with the Bucks going 2-4 in their last six games against the spread. “Fear the Deer” carries added meaning at home, though, as Milwaukee is 5-2 against the spread in its past seven home games.
John Salmons led the offensive attack against Atlanta in the win, racking up a team-high 22 points while adding seven rebounds. Salmons has killed Atlanta all season; he’s averaging 21.5 points in his last two playoff games and posted similar numbers (21.3 PPG) in six regular season match ups.
Hawks vs. Bucks Free NBA Playoff Pick
Milwaukee showed some fight on Saturday, but there’s no disputing Atlanta has a big edge in talent right now. Expect more urgency on the Hawks’ part on Monday night, which should lead to a road victory and 3-1 lead in this best-of-seven series. Bet on Atlanta.
