NBA playoff odds: Phoenix Suns vs. San Antonio Spurs

Team records:
Phoenix: 54-28 SU, 48-32-2 ATS
San Antonio: 50-32 SU, 44-37-1 ATS

The Suns have raced to a 2-0 lead on NBA Playoff odds in their series with the San Antonio Spurs. Tim Duncan and Co. have been tough at home, though, so tonight’s match up should be a real battle.

Matchup: Spurs at Suns

Time: Friday at 9:30 p.m. ET
Venue: AT&T Center
Spread: San Antonio -6.5
Over/Under: 205

The Spurs face an uphill battle to dig themselves out of a 0-2 hole. San Antonio’s 110- 102 loss in Game 2 dropped the team to just 5-5 over its past 10 games.

Worse yet, the Spurs have really struggled at the sportsbook, going 4-5-1 against the spread in their last 10 games; they’ve covered only once in their last five outings.

Returning home should make a difference, though, as the Spurs are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games in San Antonio. Online Sports Betting at Sportsbook

Manu Ginobili and George Hill are two crucial keys to the Spurs lineup, but they didn’t show up to play in Game 2. Ginobili, a playoff veteran, managed just 11 points on the night. Hill, who grew into a big role for the Spurs when Tony Parker was injured earlier this season, mustered just 14 points.

Tim Duncan was forced to carry the load for San Antonio, racking up 29 points and 10 rebounds. Richard Jefferson picked up a double-double of his own (18 points, 10 rebounds) while Parker came off the bench and dropped 20 points. The Spurs could be better from the free throw line (15-22 in Game 2).

Phoenix continued its tear through the league with Wednesday’s win over San Antonio.

The Suns have won eight of their last 10 games against the spread, including four straight victories on NBA odds; their record is identical straight up.

Phoenix has been solid if unspectacular away from home, going 6-4 against the spread in its last 10 road games. Unlike San Antonio, the Suns did a great job getting to the line and making shots once they were there; Phoenix went 29-37 from the charity stripe. Amare Stoudemire did much of the damage, going 11-13 from the foul line en route to a 23-point, 11-rebound performance. He was one of six Suns to net double figures.

Steve Nash and Jason Richardson were in the mix as usual, scoring 19 points apiece. Grant Hill added 18.

Channing Frye provided a boost off the bench by hitting five his six three-point attempts, good enough for 15 points on the evening.

Suns vs. Spurs Free NBA Playoff Pick

The Suns look like a runaway train but they’ll be derailed a bit in San Antonio. The Spurs trailed in the Mavericks series, too, but forged a comeback.

Phoenix suffered a few letdown games against Portland, too, so this will be the Spurs’ chance to make things interesting.

Bet on San Antonio.
