NBA Playoffs odds – Game 2 – NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs 1st Round

Team records:
Chicago: 41-41 SU, 42-38-2 ATS
Cleveland: 61-21 SU, 37-43-2 ATS

The #8 seed Chicago Bulls are in Cleveland face the #1 seed Cavaliers for game two of a best-out of seven series in the first round of the NBA Eastern Conference playoffs. Cleveland currently leads the series 1-0.

Matchup: Bulls at Cavaliers

Time: Monday April 19th 8:00 P.M.
Venue: Quicken Loans Arena
Spread: Chicago +10.5 (-105)
Cleveland -10.5 (-105)
Total (Over/Under): 191

Chicago was hoping for a quick start in game one to try and capitalize on the notion that the Cavaliers might come into this series a bit rusty after resting most of their starters the final few games of the regular season. Instead, they found themselves trailing by 14 points at the end of the first quarter, as the fully intact starting five for the Cavs never missed a beat.

The game was basically even from that point on as the Bulls went on to lose by 13 points 83-96, unable to cover a point spread of 11.

With the point spread basically the same for game two, the odds makers are expecting this game to follow the same script. If Chicago is to have any chance of making this a series, they have to find a away to not only slow Cleveland down, but consistently score points of their own to keep the game close.

In game one, Derrick Rose did his part with 28 points, seven rebounds, and 10 assists but his supporting cast was unable to elevate their game to match the talent level of Cleveland. Loul Deng was held to 12 points, Joakim Noah only managed to score 10 and the Bulls only added 13 points off the bench. Online Sports Betting at Sportsbook

For Cleveland this game seemed nothing more than a brisk practice. They were able to work Shaquille O’Neil back into the lineup as he ended the game with 12 points, five rebounds, and four assist in a little over 24 minutes of action.

They were also able to spread the ball around with LeBron James scoring 24 points, Mo Williams scoring 19 and Antawn Jamison adding 15 to overwhelm Chicago with a balanced attack. Anderson Varejao added eight points and 15 rebounds (including 11 defensive boards) off the bench to further help to shut Chicago down.

When the Cavaliers are able to play this efficiently it will be hard for anyone to beat them. I would expect them to take the same approach in game two, as there should be no need for James to put on a one man show to beat this team.

In the famous words of Yogi Berra this seems like deja- vu all over again. Same teams, same venue, and same point spread (almost). There is nothing to compel me to believe the result will not be the same as well.
