The Heat endured a bit of a speed bump in Game 3, losing their first game of the postseason, but they put their foot back on the throttle in Game 4 to put themselves in position to advance to their fourth Eastern Conference Final in as many years.

The Nets were just unconscious from beyond the arc in Game 3, helping the team to hand the Heat a rare postseason loss, but a regression was in order for Game 4, and without a hot shooting performance, they didn’t stand a chance at evening the series on Monday.

Miami claimed a 102-96 decision in that one. LeBron James had a game to remember, scoring 49 points on 16-of-24 shooting, hitting three of his six shots from beyond the arc, and attempting 19 free throws. He filled out his stat line with six rebounds, three steals, and two assists. He turned the ball over just once.

Dwyane Wade added 15 points on 7-of-13 shooting, with four rebounds, three assists, and two blocks. Chris Bosh had 12 points, including a big three-pointer late in the game, five rebounds, three blocks, and two steals.

The Nets were led in scoring once again by Joe Johnson, who had 18 points, but needed 15 shots from the field to get there. Paul Pierce had a more efficient scoring night, with 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting, though he did miss all four of his attempts from beyond the arc.

After some hot shooting in Games 2 and 3, Mirza Teletovic crashed back down to Earth. He missed all three of his shots from beyond the arc, and finished the game with just four points.

The Heat have found that extra gear which makes them so special. Now, with a chance to put the Nets in their rearview mirror, don’t think they’ll let the opportunity pass them by. They’ve been good to their backers in this series, and will look to build up one final big margin before this series is out.

Additionally, the Heat really clamped down defensively on their home court in Games 1 and 2 of this series, and with the series shifting back to South Beach, the Nets’ offense could be in for a long night, as the Heat look to get a win and move on to the next series.

Playoff Trends

The Heat are 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall, while the Nets are 1-3 ATS in this series.

The under is 6-1 in the last seven meetings between these teams in Miami.

The play: Miami -7, Under 188.5
