Thanks to a furious fourth quarter rally after trailing by 13 points with 12 minutes left in regulation, the Memphis Grizzlies now have a two game to one edge against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Game 4 is on Monday night at FedEx Forum, and it is a critical game for both teams. Memphis has taken a 2-1 series lead against Oklahoma City, and is 4-0 on their home court in this post-season.

Oklahoma City needs to get back up off the mats after blowing that 13-point lead, scoring just ten points in final stanza. The game is virtually a must win to even the series. A loss means they’d have to win the last three games in succession in order to advance to the Western Conference Finals.

Memphis will use the same starting line-up, which features Sam Young starting at the shooting guard spot instead of OJ Mayo. Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins prefers having Young start the game, feeling Mayo delivers more energy off the bench. While Young scored just four points in Game 3, his big dunk ignited the Memphis comeback. Mayo contributed 18 points off the bench, one of five Memphis players scoring in double figures.

The Thunder will need a better performance from Russell Westbrook. The Oklahoma City point guard scored a team-high 23 points, but was just 7-for-22 from the field, and committing seven turnovers while fouling out. Three point field goal shooting needs to improve team-wide for the Thunder if they are to even the series. In Game 3, the Oklahoma City club shot just 4-for-21 from beyond the arc, good for just a paltry 19%.

Memphis did a much better job in their victory on Saturday because they were more physical on the glass. Memphis won the rebounding battle 55-53, including 20 offensive rebounds. The Grizzlies also earned the win by making 8-of-10 free throws in overtime.

Matt’s Free Prediction: Thunder – This series has seen each team answer a solid effort by the opponent. The Thunder could easily be up 2-1 in this series, and they will be motivated to equal things up in what figures to be a longer series than most experts projected.
