Dragic will miss his second game after sitting out on Tuesday with an ankle injury, while the Spurs aim to make it two in a row after Tony Parker scored 24 points to help his team to a big fourth quarter to overcome host Denver last night.

Meanwhile, in New Orleans, Eric Bledsoe scored 25 points for the Suns who held off the Pelicans to improve to 3-1 on the season.

The Suns trailed 45-41 at halftime,  but went on a several runs on the third, while coming up with some key stops when needed to keep New Orleans at bay.

Over in Denver, San Antonio’s big three were finally getting it done with the help of Parker and veteran Tim Duncan, who added 17 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, while Kawhi Leonard scored 14, in the Spurs 102-94 win over the Nuggets.

But it wasn’t as easy as it looked, as Denver held San Antonio to just 35.6 percent shooting in the first half and took a 52-43 lead into the break. Spurs sharpshooter Danny Green went 0-for-3 from 3-point range and is 2-for-9 on the season.

However, the Spurs capitalized on some of Denver’s many mistakes, going on a 20-6 run to overcome a six-point deficit entering the final period. Boris Diaw recorded nine points to lead a 31-point effort from the San Antonio reserves.

The Nuggets gave this one away, committing 23 turnovers, which led to 27 points for the Spurs.

Matt’s FREE NBA Prediction:

It would be unwise to just jump on the Spurs in this one without first considering that the Suns offense has done well, even without Dragic.

Bledsoe has stepped up his play, entering the game in Denver averaging 22 points, 8.7 assists, 6.3 rebounds and 2 steals per game.

Nevertheless, the Spurs have defended reasonably well and seemed to have been able to fibally get the offense it was so desperately seeking from not only its bench but its big guns as well.

This battle likely comes down to one category — turnovers. It’s simple. Control the ball and win the head-to-head battle. The Spurs do a better job of both of those things.

Spurs 105, Suns 99
