ATS Matchup Insight | CappersPicks Insider Preview

Behind another solid outing from Chris Paul, the Clippers edged out Minnestoa 102-98 their last time out.

It was Paul’s 12th points-assists double-double in as many games, as he tallied 20 points and 11 assists as visiting Los Angeles held off the Timberwolves. Teammate Blake Griffin added 20 points and 10 rebounds and Jamal Crawford added 16 points off the bench for Los Angeles.

The game was close in the first half, before LA started to pull clear with a 10-2 run in the third quarter, pushing it to 71-61 with 1:49 left in the period.

The Clippers did a good job just about everywhere on the floor, going 12-of-24 from 3-point range to help make up for a whopping 19 turnovers and a poor effort on the boards.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma bounced back from a two-game losing streak that began with a 111-103 loss to the Clippers on the road a week ago. They have now won two straight, including a 115-113 win over the Denver Nuggets on Monday.

Kevin Durant poured in 38 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:25 left , while Russell Westbrook added 30 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists against Denver.

Reggie Jackson scored 14 off the bench for Oklahoma City, including a pair of free throws with 14 seconds left to help seal it.

Oklahoma City was almost unstoppable from downtown, shooting, going 8-for-11 from 3-point range in the first half on their way to the win and improving to 4-0 at home this season.

The Thunder also held a 53-45 edge on the boards in a matchup of two of the league’s top four rebounding teams, and will need to bring it against the Clippers, who outrebounded them the last time the two met, 50-35.

Matt’s Prediction:

This game will definitely be a grudge match as the last time the two met in LA, Griffin drew a technical foul as part of the scrum that included the Thunder’s Serge Ibaka and Matt Barnes, which started when Ibaka and Griffin got tangled up and Barnes rushed in to shove Ibaka in the chest.

Oklahoma City center Kendrick Perkins who missed that game following the death of his grandfather, will be back and that will without a doubt give the Thunder a better chance on the boards this time, which should allow more second chance scoring opportunities.

Thunder 101, Clippers 95
