ATS Matchup Insight | CappersPicks Insider Preview

Philly (15-47) beat the Knicks 110-106, at the Garden back on Jan. 22.

In that one, Evan Turner scored a career-high 34 points and added 11 rebounds while Thaddeus Young scored 19 points and Michael Carter-Williams collected 19 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists.

The Sixers played well, but the game could have easily went in the other direction though, as the they did a poor job defensively, that included allowing Carmelo Anthony to rack up 28 points and seven assists for the Knicks, who were at the time in the midst of a four-game slide.

Philadelphia however, was able to come back from being down, helped by solid play on the glass, outrebounding the Knicks 54-39. But as of late it’s been just the opposite, as the Sixers have been out rebounded for many of the games during their current 16-game losing streak.

Now they will try to avoid topping the team’s longest skid of 20 games, set back in 1972-73, with a win over a New York team that is riding a three-game win streak.

The Knicks (24-40) continued their recent surge with a 107-97 win over the Cavaliers on Saturday.

Anthony scored 26 points and Amar’e Stoudemire added 17 points and 12 rebounds , while Tyson Chandler recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards for the Knicks, who dropped seven in a row before the current run.

The Knicks built up a 49-37 advantage on the glass over the Cava, but were once again outscored in the paint, 42-28.

Matt’s Prediction:

Both teams have been inconsistent and rank near the bottom in just about every statistical category.

Given the fact that one of the Sixers seven road wins have come at the Garden, and with the spread being over 15 points, I am going with Philly and taking the points in this one.

76ers 97, Knicks 90
