Cleveland will go for their 11 straight win when they welcome in the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday. Philadelphia came back from down 17 last time these two teams played to earn their 1st home victory of the season with a 95-92 win. Since then, Cleveland has tinkered with their lineup and will look for a bit of revenge Monday.

Philadelphia

The 76ers nearly unexpectedly put an end to the Atlanta Hawks epic winning streak last time out.

Leading by 2 in the 4th quarter, the 76ers couldn’t find a clutch shot and ultimately fell in the end 91-85. They will however look to win their 3rd game in 4 tries when they head to Cleveland on Monday night.

The main highlight from Philadelphia’s last contest was their impressive 3 point shooting. The 76ers drilled 14 three pointers in their loss to Atlanta. They do however continue to struggle scoring, as they are averaging just 89.6 points a game (30th).

If Philadelphia has any hopes of pulling off the major road upset, they’ll need Michael Carter-Williams to have a repeated, if not better performance from the last time these two teams met. Carter-Williams scored 18 points and dished out 13 assists in the victory over the Cavs.

Michael Carter-Williams has also stepped his game up as of late, averaging just short of a triple-double in his last 3 games with 14.7 points, 9.3 assists, and 8.3 rebounds.

Cleveland

The Cavaliers looked quite untouchable right now. Winners of 10 straight, the team chemistry is at an all time high for Cleveland. Even more impressive, the defense has absolutely dominated during this streak.

Cleveland was one of the leagues worst defensive teams early on, but in their last 8 games, the opposition has scored just 92.9 points a game. Cleveland has seen their season average drop below triple digits, as they allow just 99.4 points a game now (14th).

On a nightly basis, the Cavaliers are getting a different player to standout and getting smaller contributions from everybody around that player. It was Lebron James on Saturday night, as he went for 36 points and took over in the 4th quarter of the Cavs win over Minnesota.

Irving scored just 12, but Kevin Love had 14 points and 17 rebounds to add in.

Cleveland has been dominate at home, especially as of late, with a 17-9 S.U. record.

NBA Basketball Handicapping Trends:

  • 76ers are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win.
  • 76ers are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 vs. NBA Central.
  • Cavaliers are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
  • Cavaliers are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games following a S.U. win.

Free 4* NBA Basketball Pick: Philadelphia +16.5

It seems odd to even consider betting against the Cavaliers at this point. They are not just beating teams, they’re demolishing the opposition. The 76ers however are a sneaky good team ATS, especially against the NBA Central division. With Cleveland potentially looking ahead to their National TV matchup Thursday with the Clippers, the 76ers could make things a bit difficult for them on Monday. Cleveland wins in the end, but closer than expected.
