Miami

The Miami Heat are finally feeling the drawbacks post Lebron era. After starting the season off fast out of the gates, Miami has dropped four in a row and will face the Denver Nuggets in the 2nd leg of their back-to-back. The Miami Heat find themselves 5 games off the pace in the NBA Southeast division behind Atlanta and Washington.

Ranking 23rd in scoring (95.1 points per game), 30th in rebounding (35.2 rebounds per game), and 21st in assists (20.6 assists per game), the Miami Heat have been a tough team to watch on the offensive end of the floor. The only time the Heat can find success on offense seems to be when Dwayne Wade touches the ball.

Dwayne Wade leads Miami in points per game with 22.0. Wade is averaging just shy of 6 assists a game as well. While Chris Bosh is up there in points per game with Wade (21.3), there is a substantial drop to the 3rd best player in terms of points scored for the Heat. PG Mario Chalmers, who has started just 8 games this season, is averaging just 13.7 points a game thus far.

With Dwayne Wade battling a lingering hamstring injury, the 2nd leg of a back-to-back has to be a major concern for Miami. They’ll need Chalmers or Deng (13.6 points per game) to step up Wednesday night.

On the road this season Miami is 5-5 S.U. and 5-5 ATS. Under bettors have profited from the Heat’s road games as 7 of the 10 have gone under the total.

Denver

While Denver is struggling like Miami to gain any consistency and string a couple wins together, they’re problem has been on the defensive end of the floor. Denver’s defense is allowing 105.8 points a game (27th). With the lack of defensive stops lately, the Nuggets have dropped 4 in a row and seen their record fall 3 games below the .500 mark.

The Nuggets seem to go as PG Ty Lawson goes. Lawson is leading 5 of the major categories including points, assists, and steals. Lawson is scoring 16.2 points a game to go along with 10.4 assists and 1.6 steals a game. Lawson has recorded double digit assists in 9 straight games, including his season high of 16 on 11/23 against the Lakers.

Even with a 9-12 record the Nuggets still sit in 2nd place in the NBA Northwest standings . They however trail the Portland Trailblazers by 7.5 games and lead the now healthy Oklahoma City Thunder by just 1.5 games.

At home this season, Denver is 5-4 S.U. inside the Pepsi Center. Over bettors have fed off the Nuggets 107.9 points per game at home seeing 6 of the games go over the total with 1 pushing.

NBA Basketball Trends:

  • Heat are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 vs. NBA Northwest.
  • Heat are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall.
  • Nuggets are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 home games.
  • Heat are 1-7 ATS in the last 8 meetings in Denver.

Free 4* NBA Basketball Pick: Denver -3.5

With the Heat playing a back-to-back and having to deal with the Phoenix Suns high powered offense on Tuesday night, fatigue will play a vital role here.

Denver 110, Miami 98

Look for Dwayne Wade to struggle in the 2nd half and ultimately Denver pulling away from Miami.
