The Heat will be without Chris Bosh, who didn’t travel with the team on their trip to New York.

Miami

Miami saw just how important Chris Bosh is to their team Sunday when they were demolished by the Chicago Bulls at home by 18 points.

Miami was led by Dwayne Wade and Luol Deng, who both scored 17 points. As a team, Miami shot just 35 percent from the field. The loss dropped Miami to 2 games below the .500 mark and put them with just a 2-6 record in December.

While the Heat will be without Bosh Tuesday night, they will also be without Josh McRoberts, who is battling a knee injury. Even worse, Dwayne Wade is listed as questionable as he has been dealing with an illness. Wade sat out practice on Monday and will be a game time decision come Tuesday. If Wade is unable to go, Luol Deng and Mario Chalmers will need to step up and fill the roles.

With the Heat’s 35% performance from the field Sunday, they saw their season average field goal percentage drop to 44%. Their poor shooting has led them to just 94.2 points a game (26th). With Bosh out indefinitely, the likes of Chris Anderson and Shawne Williams will see more minutes on the floor.

On the road Miami is 7-6 overall. They’re scoring right at their season average with 94.9 points and are allowing 97.6 points. With the low totals, under bettors have feasted on 9 of the 13 games going under the listed total.

Brooklyn

While the Heat are without one of their main pieces, the Nets can relate to that problem. Star C Brook Lopez will miss his 5th straight game with lower back problems. Lopez was averaging 16.1 points and 6.2 rebounds a game prior to his injury.

While Miami has not found someone to fill in productively for injured C Chris Bosh, Brooklyn has found an answer with Mason Plumlee for Lopez. Mason Plumlee is coming off an 11 point, 13 rebounding game in the team’s win over Charlotte. Plumlee has posted consecutive double-doubles at the center position.

After dropping 3 in a row, Brooklyn has found a little bit of rhythm offensively en route to 2 straight victories. PG Deron Williams is coming off a double-double of his own posting 18 points and 10 assists. As a team the Nets shot 16 of 23 from 3 point range last game while scoring 114 points.

Inside the Barclays Center Brooklyn is just 5-6 S.U. and 4-7 ATS. In their most recent home game Brooklyn knocked off the 76ers by 18 points.

NBA Basketball Trends:

  • Heat are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall.
  • Heat are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 vs. Eastern Conference.
  • Nets are 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 Tuesday games.
  • Nets are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games.

With Bosh out, Miami is a completely different team. Even if Dwayne Wade plays, he’s obviously not going to be at 100% due to the illness.

Brooklyn 102, Miami 85

Deron Williams and company route the Heat Tuesday night at home.
