Houston has won 3 straight, while Brooklyn has lost 5 in a row.

Houston will look to work around jet lag as they’ve traveled from New York, to Houston, and now back to New York for their battle with the Nets.

Houston

The only thing going wrong for Houston at the moment is their schedule. After demolishing the Knicks on Thursday, their schedule had them going back to Houston for Saturday’s contest with the Jazz. After dismantling the Jazz, the Rockets now jump on a plane and head back up to New York, this time to do battle with the Nets.

Winners of 3 in a row, the Rockets are now in a tie for first place in the NBA Southwest Division with the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Rockets have typically been known for their fast paced, high scoring offense. That however is not the case this year. Ranking 14th in the NBA with 101.5 points a game, the Rockets are beating opponents with their high pressured defense. Houston is allowing just 96.8 points against per game (3rd). They’ve held opponents to under 100 points in their last 5 victories.

The Rockets will look to boost their 12-5 road record on Monday.

Brooklyn

Things have gone from bad to worse for the Brooklyn Nets. One of the NBA’s worst teams offensively will be without PG Deron Williams once again on Monday who is battling a rib injury. On the season, Williams is averaging 13.9 points a game before going down with an injury.

Scoring just 95.5 points a game (25th), the Nets are looking for somebody to step up offensively. During their 5 game skid, they’ve surpassed the 90 point mark just one time. With the recent struggles, the Nets have slipped to 5 games under the .500 mark. Even with this abysmal stretch, Brooklyn still clings to the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference.

Things do not get any easier for Brooklyn in the coming games, as they hit a stretch of taking on 10 of the top NBA teams in their next 12 games.

At home this season, Brooklyn is just 8-11 overall.

They’ve lost 3 straight inside the Barclays Center which include losses to Philadelphia and Boston.

NBA Basketball Trends:

  • Rockets are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Eastern Conference.
  • Rockets are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a SU win of more than 10 points.
  • Rockets are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 vs. NBA Atlantic.
  • Nets are 13-6 ATS in their last 19 vs. Western Conference.
  • Nets are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 Monday games.

Head-to-Head

The Rockets have dominated the head-to-head matchup with the Nets. Houston has won 14 of the last 15 games between the two clubs. Brooklyn however holds the winning streak as they won the last time these two met 105-96.

Free 4* NBA Basketball Pick: Houston -6.5

The Nets are just a mess right now. Unable to put up points and meeting with the 3rd best defense in the NBA only spells disaster for them come Monday night. Houston -6.5 even on the road is the best route to go here.

Houston 103, Brooklyn 87

Harden and company get the job done in a blowout.
