With the point guard sidelined Sunday night, the Warriors unexpectedly fell to the Indiana Pacers 104-98. Golden State made just 1 field goal down the stretch and failed to get any clutch defensive stops. Things will not get any easier for them Tuesday as they head to Washington, where the Wizards seek to right the ship to their struggles.

Golden State

Golden State will be keeping a close eye on Steph Curry prior to game time. The star point guard is listed as questionable for Tuesday’s affair with the Wizards. Curry is battling a sore right foot injury, but hopes to play Tuesday night. He practiced Monday and said his foot did feel better. After watching Sunday’s contest, it is clear the Warriors are much less of a threatening team without the other half of the splash brothers.

Golden State struggled all night long against Indiana, shooting just 38 percent from the field and 34 percent from behind the arc.

Leading the way for the Steph Curryless Warriors was Klay Thompson. Thompson dropped in 39 in the defeat. If Curry is out once again, Thompson will likely need an even better performance than Sundays if Golden State hopes to get back in the win column.

The Warriors are also feeling a bit of pressure as far as the standings are concerned. With the Grizzlies victory Monday night over Los Angeles, Golden State saw their lead diminish to just 3 games for the overall number 1 seed.

On the road this season, Golden State is 19-8 S.U.

Washington

The Wizards are the definition of a team reeling. Losing 8 of their last 10, Washington continues to slip back in the Eastern Conference standings.

Currently they sit in 5th place, now 1.5 games in back of Cleveland for the 4th spot and just 2 games ahead of Milwaukee from 6th. The absence of Bradley Beal has proven to be quite significant.

Beal, who is battling a right leg injury, is slated to miss his 6th consecutive game. Beal is averaging 15 points a game to go along with 3.8 rebounds.

With Beal likely out, John Wall is going to have to pick up the slack for Washington once again. Wall played the “mailman” role on Sunday as he dished out 12 assists in the Wizards blowout loss.

Washington received a promising performance from C Marcin Gortat Sunday. Gortat recorded a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Expect him to establish his spot on the block against Golden State Tuesday.

As they attempt to right the ship, a little home cooking could be just what they need. Washington is currently 20-9 S.U. at home.

NBA Basketball Trends:

  • Warriors are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record.
  • Warriors are 18-8 ATS in their last 26 games following a S.U. loss.
  • Wizards are 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.
  • Wizards are 3-11 ATS in their last 14 games overall.

Free 4* NBA Basketball Pick: Golden State

Expecting Curry to play, Golden State should have no problem with the struggling Wizards.

Golden State 108, Washington 95

Washington is a mess right now and will have problems stopping the high flying, fast paced offense.
