Boston on the other hand, is in the midst of a major battle as they try and steal the 8 seed in the Eastern Conference and sneak into the playoffs.

Boston

With the Eastern Conference being so weak, the Celtics have used this as a golden opportunity to try and sneak in as a 7 or 8 seed.

Currently, Boston sits tied for the 7th and 8th spot with Brooklyn with identical 36-42 records. Both teams are just 2 games behind Milwaukee for 6th.

The Celtics have 4 of 5 overall and 5 straight road contests coming into this one on Friday. In their most recent contest, they knocked off the Detroit Pistons, 113-103 behind Isaiah Thomas and his 34 points off the bench.

Thomas has played a giant role in the Celtics most recent surge as he has averaged 27.3 points over his last 3 games since returning from a back injury.

Boston will look to win their 6th straight road game, which would mark the longest road winning streak for the team since back in 2010.

At the moment, Boston holds a 1 game lead on Indiana, and a 1.5 game lead on Miami. If the season were to end today, Boston would grab the 7 seed because of head-to-head tiebreakers with Brooklyn.

Cleveland

While the MVP is important to Lebron James, he knows resting up for the playoffs in even more important. James and company could sit out the remainder of the regular season as they prepare for a battle with possibly the Celtics, Nets, Heat, or Pacers in the first round.

With or without Lebron on the court come Friday, Cleveland will go for their 19th straight home win.

Should Lebron sit out, Cleveland is just 2-9 without the star forward in the lineup.

The Cavaliers will likely give a lot of minutes to the likes of Matthew Dellavedova, Mike Miller, James Jones, Kendrick Perkins, and Shawn Marion.

Bettors should be very cautious when approaching this game as the lineups have not been announced yet and it is still unclear if Lebron, Kyrie, Kevin Love, and the rest of the starters will play on Friday.

Cleveland is 20-18 ATS inside Quicken Loans Arena this season.
