Houston

Currently the Rockets sit in the third playoff spot in the Western Conference and 2.5 games back of the Memphis Grizzlies. Houston had their three-game winning streak snapped in a 117-102 loss to the Phoenix Suns on Saturday.

The absence of center Dwight Howard has proved to be substantial. Last game, the Rockets gave up 54 points in the paint which is roughly ten points above their season average.

MVP candidate James Harden is putting up career numbers this season averaging 26.9 points per game to go along with 7.0 assists and 1.9 steals. Last game against Phoenix he struggled, only putting up 16 points on 5 of 19 shooting after a career-high 50-point performance.

The Rockets’ play is largely contingent on James Hardens’ play. When Harden shoots 33.3 percent or less the Rockets are just 7-7.

In Houston’s last game against Indiana they won 110-98 and shot 51.4 percent from the field as a team. Harden shot 7 of 12 from 3-point range and scored an impressive 45 points.

The Rockets have only won three of their last nine on the road and have dropped six of their last eight in Indianapolis.

Indiana

The Pacers had an incredible month of February and got themselves back into the playoff picture. From February 4th through March 12th they went 13-2 and moved up into the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. The defense was the main reason for the Pacers success during the streak. The Pacers only gave up 93.1 points per game during the 15-game streak which would rank at the top of the league.

Point guard George Hill is leading the team in scoring with 15.1 points per game and assists with 4.6. In their last game the Pacers lost to the Nets 123-111 and surrendered 61.3 percent shooting. The Pacers are trying to avoid losing a fourth game in a row at home for the first time since 2010.

Indiana is 5-5 in their last 10 games and desperately need to string together a couple wins if they hope to be playing in the postseason.

 NBA Handicapping Tips:

  • Pacers are 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall.
  • Pacers are 1-4 ATS in their five games playing on 1 days rest.
  • Rockets are 9-1 ATS in their last ten games following a SU loss of more than 10 points.
  • Rockets are 5-1 ATS in their last six games playing on 1 days rest.

NBA Gambling Prediction

With the Rockets coming off a loss to the Phoenix Suns look for them to come out strong. James Harden will rebound from his bad performance last game and lead the Rockets to a big win. The Pacers have really been struggling on defense and look for that to continue with the Rockets high-powered offense.

Free 4* NBA Betting Pick: HOU +1

Look for Houston to win this game, most likely by double digits and for it to be over early.
