Oklahoma City

The Thunder beat the 76ers last night but it took overtime to put them away. As has become the norm since Kevin Durant went down again Russell Westbrook, who might have missed the game altogether saved the day by scoring 40+ points.

By all rights they probably should have lost as no other starter cracked double digits. It is not going to be easy while KD continues to try and get back in the lineup if nobody else steps up with regularity. As good a Westbrook is he needs a little help.

The lone sources of support last night were reserve guards D.J. Augustin and Dion Waiters, who are both scorers first. I wonder if that might be part of the problem, that all of their key ball handlers look to score for themselves instead of setting up teammates. New center Enes Kanter had been very productive since joining the club and they can’t forget about him. He gives them some scoring balance.

Chicago

The Bulls are coming off a nice win over Washington on Tuesday night at home.

[dfads params=’groups=63727&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Not only did they beat a team that has been a little too comfortable at the United Center they did so without the trio of Derrick Rose, Taj Gibson and Jimmy Butler, all important contributors. If they continue to play good defense this team has enough strength to succeed. This will be a tough test though as they have may have to be more proficient on offense then they need be against most of the teams in the Eastern Conference.

None of the injured trio mentioned above will be suiting up for this game either. With the entire backcourt out the Bulls have been relying on the shifty game of Aaron Brooks as a scoring point.

He definitely has the skills to put the ball in the hole but at times his shot selection is just atrocious.

NBA Betting Prediction:  Oklahoma City -4

OKC might be tired but I think they can still get this one done.

NBA Score Prediction:  Oklahoma City 100 – Chicago 95

The Bulls are lacking good depth and I like their size up front to foil Chicago’s bigs.
