The Raptors and Mavericks are the league’s two highest scoring teams. The Mavericks have paced the league with 109.3 points per game. The Raptors have used all those points to put together a six-game winning streak.

The Raptors have been the more surprising of the two given how high they’ve climbed in the points ranks. The team’s biggest offseason addition was Lou Williams, who, on his own, hardly justifies a 6.7 point per game jump in production.
With that said, Williams has been terrific of late. He dropped 22 points in 26 minutes of work against his former team the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday in a 126-115 victory. Shooting guard DeMar DeRozan paced the team with 27 points in that one.
The Mavericks had a six-game winning streak of their own going at one point this season, but they had lost two in a row before coming back to beat the New York Knicks in overtime on Wednesday by a score of 109-102.

Center Tyson Chandler came up big against his former team for the Mavericks, just like the Raptors’ Lou Williams did against his former club. Chandler racked up 17 points and 25 boards in that one, helping Dallas to a 50-24 edge in the paint.
Dirk Nowitzki scored 30 points on 11-of-24 shooting in that one. He’s one of the players on the team that’s feasted against lesser opponents but struggled against quality foes. He’s hitting on 59.8 percent of his shots against opponents below .500, and hitting on 40.4 percent of his shots against teams that are above .500.
As a team, the Mavericks are scoring 99.3 points per game against opponents that are above .500, compared with 117.0 points per game against opponents with losing records.

In addition to facing a team with a winning record in this one, the Mavs may have to do so without Jameer Nelson, who is dealing with back spasms.
