***NOTE*** Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry will sit out Wednesday against the Bulls due to back spasms.

Chicago

It isn’t always pretty but it is pretty impressive what the Bulls have been able to accomplish given their injury woes. Derrick Rose is still on the shelf and for this one it looks like he will be joined by Joakim Noah.

Thankfully the Bulls just got Taj Gibson back from injury, he just doesn’t do all of the things that Noah does though.

The Bulls have won only one of their last six road games and that was against Philadelphia.

They are locked into the playoffs but this team is tough to handicap night to night.

The lone constant for the Bulls this season has been the play of Pau Gasol.

He is averaging a double-double on the season including a career high rebounding average in his first season in the Windy City. The cool thing about it is that he has really stepped up when called upon.

Jimmy Butler rejoined the lineup in their last game and promptly scored 19 points with 9 rebounds in 39 minutes. Not much rust there.

Toronto

The Raptors were terrible in the first half against Detroit last night.

They closed the gap in the second to make it respectable but all is still not right with this club, especially since Kyle Lowry left the game with back spasms and didn’t return.

Toronto is running out of games to get its mojo back before the playoffs and has been terrible against the Bulls this season. Given how close these teams are in the standings there is a lot at stake for the Raptors at home on Wednesday night.

Lowry is listed as day to day but what is equally disheartening is the fact they are not getting much from backup Greivis Vazquez.

One of the strengths of this team is the bench but it has not been stepping up lately.

The Raptors have been getting killed on defense of late and need to find their way back to the way they were playing early in the season. James Johnson might be a good idea to get back in the rotation.
