Golden State

After a fabulous regular season the Warriors seem to be playing it smart early in the playoffs.

They are getting the wins they need but they have not been covering the numbers so I am sure there are some out there who think that the team is not living up to its promise.

I don’t think they are coasting but the playoffs are more marathon than sprint and coach Steve Kerr seems to be managing the team effectively. There are no extra
points for the blowout victories that were common during thre regular season.

The Splash Brothers are continuing their high quality play in the playoffs. They get notoriety for their long range marksmanship but their games are so much more than that.

In essence they just put a lot of pressure on you at both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor.

They haven’t relied upon it but I like the depth thisteam has, especially when David Lee is healthy. People forget he was a former 20/10 guy.

New Orleans

I don’t know if Anthony Davis is going to win an NBA title someday but if so the he should be able to check off one of the prerequisites after this season.

Razor Ray's Picks

It is a definite pattern that teams and players lose a little before they win in the NBA playoffs so even though Davis has been very good the fact that New Orleans is coming up short in this series is no surprise.

The question is whether this group has enough fortitutude to avoid a sweep, even against a very good team like Golden State.

That too is part of the evolution.

Quincy Pondexter is not a star in the making. After starting the playoffs with a strong performance he scored only three points in G2.

He and Omer Asik combined for only five points and it puts pressure on others to be even more productive which is dangerous territory for the Pelicans because other than “The Brow” they do not have high efficiency scorers.

I have said it before. You do not want Tyreke Evans feeling compelled to take more shots.
