Golden State got out to an early lead and then cruised in game one. They got the win but their backers weren’t happy.

New Orleans

The Pelicans had a strong final quarter that made their opening game loss to the Warriors seem much closer than it really was. It may have satisfied backers but I am not sure there was really anything there that makes you think they are going to really press Golden State in the series. One thing that is obvious is that Anthony Davis is an absolute stud and maybe when the Series gets back to Big Easy he will be able to help his teammates taste a little playoff success.

Davis hit for 35 points for the Pelicans but this game showed they just don’t have the depth to compete with Golden State. They did get a surprising contribution from Quincy Pondexter who scored 20 points while also leading the team in rebounds and assists.

Razor Ray's Picks

It was just the third time all season he has scored 20 or more and they are going to need him to continue to play big, especially if Tyreke Evans is not able to go on Monday.

Golden State

The Warriors do not have to worry about style points, they just need to keep winning games and advancing in the playoffs so it doesn’t seem their wonderful regular season was wasted. Using that mindset game one was a success, even if they left backers hanging out to dry. They opened up in the first half very strong and no amount of 4th quarter comeback should have them all that concerned. It was nice to see that Steph Curry appears ready for his closeup.

Curry led the way but the entire starting lineup was very sharp. Everyone scored 12 or more points, Andrew Bogut and Draymond Green both had double-doubles and the backcourt of Curry and Klay Thompson scored 55 points combined. If I had to be concerned about anything for Golden State it would be that only one player off the bench scored more than 2 points and that David Lee is questionable with a back injury.

That really hampers their depth.

NBA Betting Trends:

  • Under is 5-0 in Pelicans last 5 games following a S.U. loss.
  • Under is 4-0-1 in Pelicans last 5 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.
  • Pelicans are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games.
  • Warriors are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win.
  • Warriors are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game.
  • Warriors are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.
  • Pelicans are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Golden State.
  • Under is 7-2-1 in the last 10 meetings.
  • Under is 6-2-1 in the last 9 meetings in Golden State.

NBA Betting Prediction:  Over 203.5

There is not great ATS value here, especially after G1.

NBA Score Prediction:  Golden State 109 – New Orleans 99

I think things could loosen up a little in G2 so go over the total.
