Free NBA Futures Pick: Betting on Leading Scorer Odds

Looking for NBA Picks?

One of the most coveted labels in all of basketball and a fun bet for futures fans is the NBA scoring leader prop. The moniker has come down to a two-horse race over the last few seasons, but with Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant nursing an ailing foot, the door is open for a new contender to emerge.

Here’s a look at four players that could take home the scoring crown this season.

Carmelo Anthony, F, New York Knicks (+200)

One of the top pure scorers in all of basketball, Anthony figures to be the centerpiece of new head coach Derek Fisher’s offense in New York.

Blessed with the ability to score at the rim and also knock down jump shots, Anthony can beat opposing defenses in a lot of different ways.

Playing for a Knicks team that has playoff aspirations this year, Anthony will be leaned on heavily to lead his team to the promised land.

James Harden, SG, Houston Rockets (+650)

Harden is undeniably offensive option 1A in one of the most explosive offenses in all of basketball. He has the ability to not only get into the lane and do damage, but can also knock down threes over the top of the defense.

While he does still look to distribute the ball a fair bit, Harden will certainly get the volume of looks to take this award down. The added presence of Dwight Howard under the basket only helps to free up space for the Arizona State product.

Russell Westbrook, PG, Oklahoma City Thunder (+1200)

While the Thunder’s representative for this award has been Kevin Durant for a good long while now, Westbrook has a chance to carve out his own run at the award this season. With Durant nursing an injured foot, Westbrook will have a great chance to jump out to a big lead as the top option in the Thunder’s offense at the moment.

Even upon Durant’s return, Westbrook can still be expected to get the volume needed to put up impressive point totals night in and night out.

Blake Griffin, PF, Los Angeles Clippers (+2500)

Playing in one of the most exciting offenses in basketball at the moment, Griffin has put up some ridiculous stat lines in recent years. Griffin really came alive in the second half of last season and has shown just how dominant he can be at the rim. With a point guard who is happy to help him build on his already impressive numbers, Griffin is a prime candidate to take a giant leap forward this season.

DeMar DeRozan, SG, Toronto Raptors (+7500)

DeRozan established himself as one of the league’s star players on a rising Toronto Raptors squad last season, earning his first nod to the All Star Game.

DeRozan has made great use of his time in the offseason to improve his game and figures to take another step forward in his development this season.
